In just three decades, Macquarie has developed from a small, innovative institution in Sydney's north to a multi-faceted and dynamic university in the heart of Australia's leading high-technology park.
Macquarie University (MU) is emerging as one of the most international universities in the world in terms of that proportion of the total student body which is from overseas. With over 27,000 students 3,000 are international students. Macquarie University is home to six national research centres, in addition to more than 20 university and other research centres. Macquarie also holds outstanding Citations Ranking, the major international measure of impact of research and of research publications, particularly in science and technology.

Macquarie University offers programs at Bachelor, Master and PhD levels in its three colleges: College of Commerce, College of Humanities and Social Science, and College of Science and Technology. The Macquarie Graduate School of Management (MGSM) is consistently ranked as one of the leading providers of management education in the Asia-Pacific region.
The spacious campus is situated 25 minutes northwest of Sydney's central business district and is linked with regular bus and train services. Located in the heart of Australia's leading high-technology park, the University's teaching and research facilities adjoin open green parkland. The University has its own commercial centre, research park and student complex as well as being adjacent to the very large Macquarie Centre shopping plaza.
Accommodation
An Accommodation Resource Room is set up to help students look for permanent off-campus accommodation. The Accommodation Resource Room will have a listing of all permanent off-campus accommodation, newspapers, telephones, computers, maps and bus timetables to assist students locate suitable off-campus accommodation.
Students seeking on-campus residential accommodation should lodge their applications at least two months prior to commencement of their studies. There are a very limited number of places available in the on-campus residential accommodation.
International Student Service
The International Student Service is available to all International students who require assistance in their adaptation to Australian life or study.
