The Academy is centrally located in Cambridge, within 15 minutes' walk of the city centre with its famous university colleges. It is equipped with a language laboratory, library, café, Internet, cable TV and a beautiful garden.
The English Language programs in Cambridge are designed to immerse participants in the English Language. Participants gain valuable information about British culture and society while improving their overall communication skills. For further immersion in the language, culture, and society, social and cultural activities are held at no additional cost. The programs are designed to provide participants with ample opportunity to learn and use English and be a part of a comprehensive learning experience. STANDARD PROGRAM

The Standard English Program consists of 20 classroom lessons. The program integrates the four language skills, reading, writing, speaking, and listening. In addition, grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation are emphasized to enable students to attain communicative proficiency. The curriculum is based on the needs of each proficiency level (see below for description) and is designed to allow participants to progress rapidly and achieve language fluency. Emphasis is placed on communication and practice through real life situations and discussions. Modern and interactive teaching methods focus on instilling linguistic, practical, communicative, and cultural aspects of the language.
Classes are held from Monday to Friday. Each class is 45 minutes long.

INTENSIVE PROGRAM

The Intensive English Program consists of 28 lessons per week, held in the mornings and afternoons. Morning classes (Standard Program) integrates the four language skills; reading, writing, speaking, and listening. In addition, grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation are emphasized to enable students to attain communicative proficiency. Afternoon classes are available according to your level and student numbers:

CAMBRIDGE EXAMINATION PROGRAMS
Levels: Low Intermediate to Advanced
Duration: 12 weeks
Classes: 20* or 28 lessons per week
These highly structured programs offer preparation for one of the following Cambridge Certificates:
FCE (First Certificate in English) - is at the Intermediate level and success indicates a good working knowledge of English.
CAE (Certificate in Advanced English) - is a high-level qualification. It focuses on the English needed for professional or study purposes with an emphasis on reading skills and writing suitable for the workplace.
The Cambridge exams are among the most widely recognised English Language Tests in the world. They are set by the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate (UCLES).
FCE - The Intermediate level and success indicates a good working knowledge of English.
CAE - A high-level qualification. It focuses on the English needed for professional or study purposes with an emphasis on reading skills and writing suitable for the workplace.
CPE - The most advanced of the UCLES examinations. Success in this exam indicates a high degree of competence and linguistic sophistication. Many British universities accept CPE as part of their entry requirements.
The programs are designed for participants seeking entry to an English-speaking university or college or career advancement in an English-speaking or multinational organisation.
The Cambridge Examination Programs consists of 20 or 28 lessons per week, held in the mornings and/or afternoons.
Intensive: 28 classroom lessons per week. Morning classes (Standard Program) integrates the four language skills; reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Afternoon classes focus on chosen Cambridge examination preparation.
Standard: 20* lessons per week. Morning classes focus on chosen Cambridge examination preparation.
*20 lessons per week is only offered from March - June and September – December.
IELTS Program
Levels: Low Intermediate to Advanced
Duration: minimum 2 weeks
Classes: 28 lessons per week
The IELTS Program consists of 28 lessons per week, held in the mornings and afternoons. Morning classes (Standard Program) integrates the four language skills; reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Afternoon classes focus on chosen IELTS preparation.
The IELTS (International English Language Testing Service) Exam program is designed for students who wish to study at an English-speaking university. It is internationally recognised by English-speaking colleges and universities and other organisations requiring a very high standard of English language ability. At the Academy the IELTS preparation course runs throughout the year and prepares students for all aspects of the IELTS test. It is possible to take the test most Saturdays in the year in Cambridge.
BUSINESS ENGLISH PROGRAM
Entry Requirements : Intermediate to Advanced
Duration : Minimum 2 weeks
Classes : 28 classes per week (21 hours per week)
Minimum Age : 16 ( the Business English Program is recommended for students over the age of 20).
The Intensive Business English program is an intensive program designed for executives and professionals. The program combines Standard English (15 hours/week) in the mornings with Business English (6 hours/week) in the afternoons.
The business class in the afternoons is adapted to suit the needs of the students. Classes focus on a wide range of relevant and interesting topics such as Telephoning, Letter writing, Making presentations, Negotiating, and General business vocabulary.
The Business English Program is recommended for students over the age of 20.

First, participants are placed according to the proficiency level they indicate on the application form. At the start of the program, all students complete a placement test and are placed in the appropriate class according to their level of English.
Beginner
This level is for participants who have never learnt English or who have learnt a few words but cannot express themselves in complete sentences. Classes focus on introducing basic vocabulary, grammar, sentence structures, and simple texts. The Beginners program provides a good foundation to the English language. Elementary
This level is for those who have learnt basic vocabulary and can express themselves in simple sentences on common topics. Classwork includes everyday topics and participants are encouraged to converse and express themselves using basic sentence structures.
Low Intermediate
This level is for those who have a grasp of simple sentence structures, and have learnt basic grammar systematically. Classes focus on improving participants' vocabulary, sentence structures, listening, reading, and speaking skills. Phonetics exercises and drills ensure that participants learn the correct pronunciation and intonation.
Intermediate
This level is for those who are able to converse on general topics and express themselves using more complex sentence structures in English. Participants learn to communicate in various situations with clarity and confidence, including describing personal experiences.
Upper Intermediate
This level is for those who are able to converse on various topics and express themselves using complex sentence structures. Classes build on increasing the level of grammar and vocabulary, enabling participants to express themselves functionally in different contexts. Emphasis is placed on participants' grammar, syntax, writing, oral expression, and listening comprehension skills.
Advanced
This level is for those who can discuss specific topics, raise complex questions, and express their opinions clearly using correct pronunciation. Participants can express themselves systematically using appropriate expressions and language norms. The curriculum is focused on enabling participants to express themselves proficiently at an abstract level.
The following extra learning opportunities are free, and are ideal for conversational practice:
- Tea & Conversation: A cup of tea and a chat with a member of staff.
Monday afternoons.
- Using the Library: A member of staff is available to discuss any issues relating to your studies.
Tuesday afternoons.
Note: Library facilities open every day.
- Using the Language Laboratory: A teacher is available to give advice on how to get full use out of the library and study materials.
Wednesday afternoons.
- Language Tutorial: This is like a mini tutorial and is an opportunity to drop in and discuss any issues relating to your studies, in particular grammar and/or vocabulary questions.
Thursday afternoons.
To ensure a comprehensive learning experience, a range of social, cultural and leisure programs are offered for no additional cost, within the total program. Social and cultural activities are an important component of learning, and provide participants with a deeper understanding of the British lifestyle, history, and culture. Social and cultural activities are held in the afternoons, evenings, or weekends and may include:

Teachers are qualified and experienced professionals, and all have been awarded CELTA and most have also been awarded DELTA.
Up-to-date, carefully selected materials are used in class, giving participants valuable information on modern-day British culture and society while developing language and communication skills.
Participants' progress is assessed through continuous homework assignments and tests throughout the programs. Participants will have weekly progress checks and regular tutorials with their teacher.
At the successful completion of the program, a diploma is awarded certifying the type of program and program dates. Students who have studied for three weeks or longer will be issued a written report. The report shows where you have improved and makes suggestions on how you can make progress in the future.
