Host Family, Student Residence, Studio, Hotel

Placements are made on a first come basis. Early application and enrollment is highly recommended to ensure that accommodation arrangements are finalized. Accommodation reservations are made as soon as the applications are received. Accommodation placement is confirmed when enrollment is completed and total program fees are fully paid.

Participants receive detail of the accommodation placement pre-departure, after enrollment is completed:

Distance from the school

Accommodation starts from 12pm on the Sunday prior to the first day of the course until 12pm on the Saturday following the last day of the course. For example, a 4 week course starting on Monday, June 30 will have accommodation from Sunday, June 29 to 12 noon on Saturday, July 26.

To provide comfortable housing and immersion into the way of life in Bordeaux, the following accommodation options are available:

OPTIONS

Host Family (Half Board)

Stay with a host family and experience French life and culture whilst improving your language in a friendly and hospitable environment. The host families offer a comfortable, private bedroom and shared bathroom facilities. Breakfast and dinner on weekdays and all meals on weekends are provided. Daily contact with the family members will quickly enhance your understanding of local customs and culture and is an excellent way to learn and experience the French way of living!

Host families have been interviewed and selected by our onsite staff. Factors taken into account include the cleanliness and comfort of the home; nature of meals (breakfast and evening meals are varied and balanced); family presence and their ability to welcome international guests. In the summer months, as this option is highly popular, early application is recommended. Any special requests should be stated clearly in the Application Form. Preferences for a non-allergenic home, special diets, a non-smoking household, or one without pets will be taken into account when host family placements are made. Arrival details are required at least 10 days before arrival to make sure your host family will be home when you arrive. This option is available on a weekly basis, starting on the Sunday before the program and ending 12 noon on the Saturday after the program finishes.

Student Residence

The student residence is located a short distance from the city centre and the Academy. For the comfort of students single rooms are provided. The residence has shared kitchen facilities for student use (no meals provided); and shared bathrooms on each floor. Linen is provided.

Studio

Fully furnished studio for one person equipped with kitchenette, bathroom, toilet, TV and telephone. Most studio apartments are located in the city.
