A range of options are offered to suit different needs. Placements are made on a first come basis. Early application and enrollment is highly recommended to ensure that accommodation arrangements are finalized. Accommodation reservations are made as soon as the applications are received, and placement is confirmed when enrollment is completed and program fees are fully paid.
Participants receive details of the accommodation placement pre-departure, after enrollment is completed:

- Distance from the school
Accommodation starts on the Sunday prior to the first day of the program until 12 noon on the Saturday following the last day of the program. For example a 4 week program starting on Monday, July 3 will have accommodation from Sunday, July 2 and leave the accommodation at 12 noon on Saturday, July 29.
Host Family (Bed & Breakfast or Half Board)
Live in a welcoming home with a family and learn about German life and culture while improving your German. Host families are personally interviewed and selected by our onsite staff. Factors taken into account when selecting families include the cleanliness and comfort of the home, nature of meals (that breakfast and evening meals are varied and balanced), family presence and the family's ability to welcome international guests. Choose Bed & Breakfast (breakfast is provided) or Half Board (breakfast and dinner are provided).
Daily contact with the family members will quickly enhance your understanding of local customs and culture and is an excellent way to learn and experience the German way of living! Host families are easily accessible by public transportation and located a maximum of 30 minutes from the Academy. Arrival details are required at least 10 days before arrival to make sure your host family will be home when you arrive. Any special requests should be stated clearly on the Application Form. Preferences for a non-allergenic home, special diets, a non-smoking household, or one without pets will be taken into account when host family placements are made.
Student Residence (Double or Single)
Conveniently located in the center of Heidelberg, the Student Residence is only 15 minutes walk from the Academy, or just 5 minutes by bus. Each room is furnished with a bed, desk, chair, refrigerator and storage space for personal belongings. Showers and bathrooms are shared. Facilities at the residence include kitchens, public telephones, washing machines and dryers (laundry coins can be purchased at the residence). Bed sheets are provided and changed weekly. Towels are not provided. Choose Double share or Single room occupancy. No meals provided.
Please note: An accommodation deposit of 250 euro is required to be paid upon arrival. The deposit is payable by cash or credit card. The deposit is returned at the end of the stay provided there are no damages and the accommodation is cleaned up upon check-out.
